A really fun figural pendant made by Meissen during the Pfeiffer period of the 20th century so it is almost a true antique now : The style and coloration together with it being from this period means it has to be a rare design by the famous Max Esser who made so many really cool animal models during this time. This one here is of a moth which is superbly modeled with lots of detail and has that typical rust coloration hand painted on it with gold details and black eyes. Even the underside is perfectly done! A truly amazing piece and it was meant to be a pendant with a little hole to the underside front. I bought it as being perfect but as is so often the case with some of these online sellers this one being especially crazy - we all know those stories!

It has two chips to that opening where the chain would attach. The opening looks to have been modeled as two tiny feelers but that detail is now gone. It does not show when on display and one has to look very closely to see it but it's there and the opening is not as solid as it once was if you are planning to use it as a pendant again. It looks just as awesome on display in my cabinet though! The figurine is 2 inches long, 1.5 inches wide and 0.5 inches thick. The figure is marked with the under glaze blue crossed swords with the dot between the top mark underneath the base as well as an impressed crossed swords mark as shown right above it. No model number since there is no room really or it could have been an experimental piece as well. 20thC German Germany Anhänger figure.
