A fun figurine of a boy with a stick and a drum made by Meissen in the early 20th century during the original period. He is one of the Hentschel Children created Julius Konrad Hentschel for Meissen between 1904 and 1907. It is not that easy to find them from this period but later versions are more easily found.
These are extremely popular with collector because they are pure joy to look at. The young boy is wearing a night shirt with the green stick between his legs pretending it to be a horse and the drum behind his left leg. Blue socks and grey slippers on his feet.
The piece is 7.125 inches tall, 3.125 inches wide and 4 inches deep. The figure is marked with the blue crossed swords mark as well as the model number W119 (part of the W is missing), an impressed 3 and green painter's number 51.The figurine displays nicely but he has a small chip to his sleeve on his right hand and the stick is broken off in the back. Both would be a very easy repair but he does displays nicely as is! These damaged are even often found on the more modern pieces so they are prone to them.
